They didn't make me clean my system out, but I saw a friend go through the same surgery with the same medical team, and she didn't clean out her system. She then had some followup complications requiring her to go back in and get fixed. I thought, "What would it hurt?" and now glad that I did. The nurses were shocked at how soon I was up walking, drinking, etc. Chances are you won't sleep much the night before your surgery anyway, so why not do something productive? :) Good luck, God Bless!

Topic: First Post in here post op :)
Sorry, i haven't posted here in the Nov. forum. I did post very quickly the day i came home. I was in a considerable amount of pain for the past few days and spent most of my time sleeping and lying in bed...
Thanks for all the well wishes! Surgery was great...he said it went off without a hitch. Today is the first day that i'm feeling relatively normal.
I'm off to try some walking and what not.
For all the Monday oppers!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!

I'm feeeling a lot better today. I'm up and around, but not doing too much. I've been sleeping a lot, but some of that is from my pain meds. I don't need them as much anymore though. I haven't seen my cut yet because he told me to keep the bandages on until my next appt, but when I went in for my appt before the surgery he kinda put a pen mark where it was going to be. It looked to be 2 maybe 3 inches, a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Then I have one other hole in my left side for my drain. I've read a lot of people can't stand their drains, but I don't really notice it's there at all. I can only take sponge baths right now, which really sucks. I haven't washed my hair yet because I can't get into a position that won't hurt my incision and not get it wet at the same time. I'm working on it though. I can bend a little easier today. My binder is what is bothering me the most. I have sensitive skin so I'm getting a little rash from it. I kept it off when I slept last night because I washed it and air dried it. I have to keep it on for 4 weeks, so this will be the most irritating part. I was curious yesterday figuring I would have gained wait since I'm swollen and bloated, but I stepped on the scale to be nosy. I lost 5 pounds. MY mouth dropped ot the floor. So I'm keeping myself motivated knowing it's already working. Now I won't step on the scale until my weigh in days (which I made Sundays since that when I took all my measurements). Hope that was some of what you were looking for. Let me know if there is anything else you'd like to know. :) Take care.

I cannot believe that you had open and was home the NEXT day! How are you feeling? How big is your cut? Please share all! :-) Topic: RE: Post op day 3
The shots are the lovenox shots. They are for blood clot prevention. I thought that everyone came home with them. I can't give them to myself so my hubby does it for me. You have to inject it into the fat so in the hospital they showed him to put it in upper arm. I have always bruised easy though so these make me look like I got into a fight.
